My recent travels in mid-April brought me to London, where I stayed for 2 nights at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane. This charming hotel provides a grand experience with the glamour of 1920s Art Deco architectural elements and sweeping views of Green Park.
The position just adjacent to Park Lane affords visitors access to the most popular sights, including the Berkley Square Mayfair, just 10 minutes away on foot. With incredible service provided at every turn, it was a memorable experience that I only wish wasn’t so brief in duration.
For those who have yet to explore London, the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane is an excellent choice in all regards, particularly for its location. It is just east of the famed Hyde Park, and to the west, you’ll find London’s cherished theatres.
Plenty of shopping abounds nearby, along with museums, art galleries, and a chance to explore one of the most revered treasures of the city – Buckingham Palace. The tube is accessible with a 5-minute walk to Green Park Underground Station, allowing you to further discover more of what London has to offer.
Although I did not come with a furry companion, guests who fancy bringing their pets can do so at this pet-friendly venue. Importantly, for me anyway, a decent gym and fitness centre is also something you’ll find within the Sheraton Grand London Park. Hotel gyms are often hit and miss, yet this property boasts a well-equipped place for your morning workout!
The dining options are something not to be missed. Mercante Restaurant is where you can start your day with a sumptuous breakfast spread with everything from indulgent homemade pastries to an omelette station. In the evening, this hotel restaurant provides classic Italian fare made fresh and authentic with seasonal ingredients.
Stop in for an informal lunch at the Palm Court Restaurant amid the art deco designs that add exceptional elegance. Even better, it is a prime award-winning spot for afternoon tea, an experience everyone should indulge in while visiting London.
Should you fancy a cocktail and a bite to eat, Smith & Whistle is a friendly bar with a historic flair. I thoroughly enjoyed sipping bespoke drinks within this splendid lounge as well as chatting to other interesting guests and businesspeople here whom were either staying at the property or passing by for an evening drink.
If you are a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum member or above, staying in the Club rooms or suites, you can also access the Sheraton Club Lounge. It’s certainly worth it for the impeccable complimentary hot breakfast buffet and a dazzling array of snacks and canapes provided throughout the day.
Additionally, while I was not able to attend, I’d be remiss if I didn’t inform you of the Magic Hour that takes place in the hotel’s historic Oak Room. While I regret missing it, you can make arrangements to get tickets for this magical illusion show if you desire.
For 2 wonderful nights, I had a beautiful suite room at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane on one of the higher floors. I recommend requesting one of the upper floors (if available) as the sweeping views of London were great to wake up to in the morning. Lucky for me, my two days in London were graced with sunshine and clear blue skies… This isn’t something Sheraton Grand Park Lane can guarantee though!
The rooms have been renovated more recently without taking away from their art deco and traditional English charm. Relaxation has been infused into every room, along with the signature Sleep Experience bed that the Sheraton brand is known for.
Each room features complimentary bathrobes and slippers, a sublime way to envelop yourself after exploring the city for the day. Between the elegance of the rooms, the excellent service, dining options, and the location of this beautiful hotel, it is one I’d wholeheartedly recommend to anyone planning a trip to London.
